Cerys and Chris' wedding was a wonderful event held at the Parkway Hotel and Spa, Cwmbran. The tone was set early, with the mother of the bride and bridesmaids dancing in the kitchen, whilst the photographer was permitted onto the lawn - it really was a special occasion! Heavy showers, and a few claps of thunder didn't stop the fun, as family and friends made sure that the day was nothing but celebration and happiness. A big thank you to all for making us feel so welcome, and an even bigger congratulations to Cerys and Chris on their marriage - may it be a long and happy one.

We had the pleasure of being invited to record the celebrations and fun at the Birthday and Anniversary party of Peter and Jane at Cardiff Masonic Hall. Friends and family gathered to share in these special moments, and were joined by the number hit band of the 1970s - The Wurzels. Straw hats handed out to everyone - and worn by most - the real celebrations began. And, despite being 70 years young, Peter was definitely leading the way! Thank you both for your hospitality, and best wishes for the future.

Court Colman Manor was the venue for the wedding of Amy and Clyne on a rain and shine day, but no amount of drizzle could dampen the spirits of family and friends on this special occasion. We had spent a wonderful afternoon getting to know them and their great children at Bracelet Bay, at the Mumbles, for their pre-wedding photo session, and were welcomed like old friends on their wedding day - especially by Casey, who was thrilled that her leg was no longer in plaster! Amy and Clyne's wedding was one of fun and laughter throughout, and was made even more special when each of the children gave speeches at the reception. Many congratulations to them both, and may the rest of their marriage be as happy as their wedding day.

It was great to meet up with Sadie and Liam at the RSPB Wetlands in Newport, South Wales. A refreshing drink was the ideal way to start on this warm day, and gave us time to catch up on their wedding plans - and to discover that they are passionate about Star Wars (or at least Liam is). We have a funny feeling that this passion may re-appear on their wedding day later this month! The Wetlands is a beautiful area, with great views over the Severn and Usk Estuaries and, of course, the East Usk Lighthouse. We had lots of fun with both of them, and are now looking forward to their wedding at The Manor House Hotel (not Minibeast Mansion!) in the Vale of Glamorgan.

The Glen Yr Afon House Hotel was the stunning location for Veronica and David's wedding; and what a wonderful celebration it was! It was very much an international event, as many of Veronica's family had travelled from Italy for the occasion, and the strong traditions of Wales and Italy combined to make the day very much about family and fun. Vows were exchanged in Italian and English and, thankfully, there was always someone to and to offer a translation. The word of the day was definitely "baci".................kisses!

A sunny evening at home was the setting for Mark and Andy's pre-wedding shoot. A glass of wine for our hosts, helped to settle their apprehension, and we set off into the garden. Not content for the more traditional shots, piggy-backs and a wheel barrow were added to the list of 'must-haves'; and a special mention must go to their mini-grooms! We are sure that their wedding day at Clearwell Castle will be spectacular, and a firework display at sunset will round off the events. We are certainly looking forward to sharing you special day with you.

Hannah and Andy chose Castle Coch and the surrounding woodland walk for the location of their pre-wedding photo session, and despite the odd bit of light rain, spirits were high and, as you will see, there was some fun being had as well! Getting a couple to relax in front of the cameras before their wedding is the goal of such sessions......and they nailed it! However, as you would hope, there was the odd romantic moment too. Although, we're not sure that their camper van is big enough to be a permanent post-wedding home! We look forward to their wedding day in July.

Court Colman Manor, Bridgend, was the venue for Laura and Tom's wedding reception. The beautiful manor house and gardens were a great setting, and not even spells of light rain could dampen the fun and celebrations of the day. The bride and groom were surrounded by family and friends, who helped celebrate Laura and Tom's special day with them. We wish the happy couple success and happiness for the future.

We got the feeling that Veronica and David were not quite sure what to expect at a pre-wedding photo session, especially David! But they soon relaxed and started to enjoy the sunny afternoon at Skenfrith Castle, near Monmouth. The Castle and it's surroundings are right next to the River Monnow and provided a great countryside setting to help get Veronica and David used to being photographed ahead of their wedding later in June at Glen-Yr-Afon.

Cerys and Chris decided to go to Cefn Onn Park for their pre-wedding photo session, a beautiful small park on the northern outskirts of Cardiff, which we think it's a bit of a well kept secret. There were lots of great locations for photography, and we even managed to persuade them to balance on a log bridge - you'll have to click on one of these images to see that in the rest of the highlights gallery. I'm sure that we will have just as much fun at their August wedding.

"I hope you don't mind, but we've brought a prop with us to use in some of the photographs", said Charlie. Well, we certainly weren't expecting a Triumph Bonneville Street Scrambler! And no, we didn't mind at all, as it made for some great photo opportunities. Joanna and Charlie chose to have their pre-wedding shoot at Ogmore Castle, as well as at Sourtherndown Beach on the beautiful South Wales coastline. The Welsh weather was, of course, perfect! And, we spent several hours enjoying the Castle, beach and motorcycle! We are now looking forward to photographing their wedding at Peterstone Court, Brecon, in June.

Cardiff Bay was the chosen venue for Leanne and Mark's pre-wedding photo session - a place that held special meaning, as it was the location of their first date. It was a beautiful Welsh day, and perfect for some fun. Leanne and Mark couldn't resist the merry-go-round, so on to the galloping horses they went! But a more relaxed pace was then the ideal way to enjoy the rest of the sunny afternoon.

We recently had a fun afternoon at Penallta Park with Louisa, James and their dog Nala for their pre-wedding photo session. Everyone was quite relaxed and enjoying the sunshine, except Nala, who often stole the show with her leaping around......why do Salukis bounce like Kangaroos?! Final preparations are now well underway for their July wedding at Llansantffraed Court.

A wonderful festive evening was spent at The Plan Cafe Bar, in the Morgan Arcade, Cardiff, to celebrate Natalie's 21st Birthday, and to enjoy some Christmas cheer with Veronica and Mike - the Cafe's owners. Friends and family gathered to share in fun, food, singing and dancing; with the hosts ensuring that everyone had all they needed to make this a special night. A big thank you must be given to Veronica and Mike, as well as the many guests, who made us feel extremely welcome, and for providing us with the chance to get some great images that really captured the wonderful atmosphere. Happy Birthday Natalie, and a Merry Christmas to all!

Maddie and Geraint's wedding day was a wonderful celebration with family and friends, that was centred around their love of dancing. They met at a dance group, and even flew one of their ministers for the ceremony all the way from the USA - who had been a member of the dance group where they had met. And in the evening, at their Bryngarw House and Country Park reception venue, performed a first dance that would be difficult to rival. And the dancing didn't end there, with all the guests joining in afterwards for a Ceroc lesson that filled the dance floor.
What the wedding day of Aimee and Alex lacked in good weather, was more than made up for in fun! Alex - usually seen in the wilds of the countryside carrying whole trees on each shoulder - has a guilty secret known only to a special few. His favourite film (one of his favourites, he says!) is Love Actually, so Aimee had secretly arranged for the Love Actually Experience to be waiting in the wings for the end of the ceremony. To Alex's surprise and amazement, the singers and congregation sprang to life with All You Need is Love. Once Alex was aware that he didn't have to sing, there was a noticeable sigh of relief, and he joined in with the party atmosphere. The fun continued at the Caldicot Castle reception with time for the guests to explore the Castle, enjoy the speeches and have a wonderful evening celebration with friends and family - despite the soggy conditions!

We had a fabulous excuse to visit the Country's great capital recently, when we met Doyin and Ayo in Canary Wharf for their pre-wedding shoot. Despite a few showers during the late summer evening, we all had great fun exploiting the city surroundings. We even managed to find a small oasis in the form of a roof garden, and as a result you would never guess that some of these photos were taken in bustling London. We are very much looking forward to this fun couple's traditional Nigerian wedding at the Celtic Manor early next year.

Jackie & Rhys' recent wedding at De Courceys Manor, Pentyrch was a beautiful day, with lots of sunshine and laughter. These are a selection of images from the day.

We received a fantastic welcome in Mauritius for the wedding of Sheilveena and Kunaal, and have memories and friends that will last a lifetime. We have to start by saying a huge thank you to both their families for making us feel like we were honoured guests rather than working ... and for the continuous supply of delicious home cooked food.
We think you'll agree that the bride looked gorgeous in her array of saris and lenghas, and the groom mixed tradition with suave sophistication in a very sharp suit.
As the wedding celebrations covered four days there are simply too many lovely images to include here, and there will be further blog entries in the near future, but here is a selection to whet your appetite.

As the day scheduled for our pre-wedding shoot with Madelene and Geraint dawned, it was apparent that the Welsh summer had gone on holiday. Despite the forecast being that it would get worse rather than better, our intrepid couple decided to go ahead. We met them at the lovely Duffryn Gardens, where Geraint had proposed, and proceeded to have as much fun as it is possible to have on a soggy Sunday afternoon....colouring in and dancing in the rain. Thank you to both of them for braving it out, as we think it produced some memorable images which remind us all that we should occasionally forget to be sensible adults. We are really looking forward to lots more dancing at their wedding at the end of August.

The wedding of Steph and Mark was a great fun day. The ceremony was held at St Barnabas Church in Warmley, which was followed by an exciting journey in a VW camper van for the happy couple to the reception in the Cotswolds, at the beautiful Egypt Mill in Nailsworth. Family and friends joined together to wish them all the happiness in the world, and the best men - there were two - offered them some sage advice for the future! Sunshine was, once again, on our side, and everyone enjoyed the celebrations in the wonderful surroundings. Many congratulations to you both.

We recently had a great afternoon in the company of Jackie (Mum), Rhys (Dad) and Rosie (cute) for their pre-wedding and family shoot in a sunny, and very hot, Alexandra Park in Penarth. Up until now, the family had very few photographs of them all together, as either Mum or Dad would be behind the camera. So it was a great opportunity to get some lovely images of them having fun together, and getting them used to the cameras in preparation for their July wedding. Rosie certainly had a good time, and got most of the attention. And when the very slow stroll through the park was at an end, there was only one thing left to do...........head to Penarth Pier for a well deserved ice cream, of course!

Congratulations to Catherine and Mike on their wonderful marriage at All Saints Church in Penarth. They were lucky to have a day blessed with sunshine, which added to the fun atmosphere of celebration generated by the happy couple's friends and family. Some photographs on and around Penarth seafront followed by a reception at Penarth Athletic Club all served to make their wedding a memorable day.

It is undeniable that a Wedding or Reception at the Cardiff Masonic Hall is one that has elegance, romance and exclusivity. The beautifully decorated rooms and temples in this Victorian building provide a wonderful setting. It is no surprise that that Cardiff Masonic Hall featured in a Wales Online article in March 2015 as "one of the coolest places to get married".
Both inside and out, the surroundings provide the opportunity for some great Wedding Photography that not many other venues offer.
From the Temples, grand Reception Hall, Ball Room and the surrounding City; celebrate your Special Day in a very unique way.
And, whilst there are some parks within a short car journey from the Masonic Hall, it's location provides a great opportunity to take advantage of the City to capture some wonderfully different images by which to remember your Wedding Day.........
.......a punnet of chips on Queen Street, posing on a motorcycle, or just relaxing as the hustle and bustle of the City goes on around you! And all just a short distance to return to the Reception to celebrate your Marriage with all your friends and family.
You can rest assured that Andrew, Leanne, Head Chef Brett, and all their team, will make your Wedding Day one to remember for all the right reasons; and you and your guests will receive one of the warmest welcomes in South Wales.
Now it's time for the 'First Dance'.......
What a lovely afternoon, in a surprisingly sunny North Devon, for the Pre-Shoot for Aimee and Alex. This was an afternoon all about memories; starting the shoot at the Sandy Cove Hotel outside Combe Martin - where Alex had taken Aimee for the night before he proposed. Then it was off to Wringcliffe Bay (how very appropriate) and the Valley of Rocks, which was where Alex popped the big question! They are not the most famous visitors, but definitely more romantic than Top Gear. It was a wonderful setting and great fun to photograph in the 'Golden' and 'Blue' hour just before and after sunset. We weren't quite as good as the resident goats in clambering over some of the terrain, but the effort was definitely worth it. We are very much looking forward to photographing their wedding day at Caldicot Castle in September.

We were very fortunate that our trip to Mauritius last year coincided with the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, which provided us with a wonderful opportunity to capture some of the tradition observed on this fabulous island. Celebrations took place across the whole island, but we chose to go to the gathering at the Umakant Mandir temple near Beau Champ, and followed the procession to Grande Riviere Sud Est, which was the meeting place for many of the local village temples. We were surrounded by a kaleidoscope of colour, as well as celebratory music and rich incense. We would like to thank the local community for a warm welcome, and are thoroughly looking forward to visiting again later this year, when we will be lucky enough to be photographing the wedding of one of our new friends. Bethan and Simon had a wonderful wedding day which started for Simon at home, which happens to be Wenvoe Castle Golf Club and thanks to the Captain for allowing us to steal his clubs on the first tee! Bethan got ready at her parents' in Wenvoe, and the ceremony was held at St Mary's, the traditional country church in the village. The minister was very welcoming to all, including us, and there was a real community and family spirit in evidence. Their reception followed at the St David's Hotel & Spa in Cardiff Bay, and the Bristol Channel breeze was unusually kind, providing the opportunity for some great outside photos around sunset. Our best wishes to them both for the future.

Louise & Chris certainly proved that you don't have to choose a country setting to have a fabulous wedding. With the ceremony and reception hosted at the Cardiff Masonic Hall, it was a just a short stroll from Queen Street, and we had great fun making the most of their central Cardiff location. To the delight of everyone Wales triumphed over England that evening. Although the first dance was slightly delayed as a result, it was worth the wait. Big congratulations to them both, and their wonderful family.

Beth and Simon wanted to have their pre-wedding shoot early evening, and close to home, which was accomplished at Wenvoe Castle Golf Club - a really wonderful setting. Zooming around in a golf buggy, in that hands of both Beth and Simon, made for a great start as we used it to get to our location, although it did not feature in any photographs! You will, however, notice a certain four-legged friend enjoying a lot of attention. It really was a fun evening, and we are looking forward to photographing their wedding this month, so keep a look out for their Wedding Highlights.

We didn't think it possible to have so much fun in one day, but that was certainly the case at Lauren and Emma's wedding. The brides were so obviously head over heals in love, and the best men made sure that everything was organised to perfection. Surrounded by all their family and friends, and wonderful to have Lauren's Dad there, the support and pride for Lauren and Emma's marriage was clear for all to see. It was a wedding that we would have loved to have been guests at, and not working hard behind the camera!

Steph and Mark's pre-wedding shoot at Three Cliffs Bay on the beautiful Gower coastline was a fun filled, get your jeans wet and sand in your toes experience. After a quick detour through the woods to avoid a menacing looking herd of cows, we stepped out of the trees to be greeted by the expansive river valley and beach. It was fabulous to spend an afternoon meandering along the sand, and the summer weather was a pleasant addition. We had a great time and are really looking forward to their wedding next year in South Gloucestershire.

St Cadoc's in Barry was the ceremony venue, and had standing room only for the recent wedding of Rhys and Dawn. The wedding was followed by a wonderfully relaxed reception at the Manor House Hotel, Penarth, where they had the run of the hotel and were able to make the most of the summer sunshine with the party spreading from the marquee throughout the gardens. The best man's speech was something which will stay in our memories for some time, and some of the resulting photos will have to wait for the private gallery to be published!
Thanks to Dawn and Rhys for letting us share such a fun day, and our best wishes for the future. To see more of the highlights gallery, click on any of the photographs below.
A wonderful summer wedding for Claire and Christopher, for which the weather was great. Friends and family enjoyed the ceremony at Bethel Baptist church in Barry, followed by the reception at the Seashore Grill at Swanbridge, a real hidden gem with fabulous food and service. I think that the photographs show that everyone had a great deal of fun in sharing the happy couple's special day. Many congratulations. Henley-on-Thames was the beautiful setting for Emma and John's wedding, and what a great day. The ceremony took place in the historic Town Hall and was followed by a wonderful reception in the style of a country fayre. The sun was shining (despite an unpromising forecast), and thanks to the Henley Ladies Regatta being held that weekend, getting to the ceremony by car became impossible. However, Emma and her family became the star attraction as they made their way through the town centre on foot! The happy and relaxed celebrations were extremely colourful, and the love and support from family and friends was clear. Even a late afternoon thunderstorm could not dampen everyone's spirits, even though there were a lot of damp people and a flooding tent; the photographs don't show the true extent of this adventure. Music, laughter, friendship and fun were they key ingredients for this wonderful day. Many congratulations to Emma and John, best wishes for their future together, and a big thank you for the warm welcome that we received. Click on any photograph to see the Highlights Gallery.
What a great afternoon in Bristol. We thoroughly enjoyed the pre-wedding shoot of Lauren and Emma, which took place around Baltic Wharf, Bristol Harbourside, Millennium Square and Clifton. We know that that sounds like a lot of places, but we were all having so much fun - as some of the photographs prove. Lauren and Emma were a pleasure to shoot, especially as ice cream was involved. We can't wait to shoot their wedding in August, as it has the bonus of having two brides and two best men.....and double cheekiness! Although we may have to hide the ice cream...........

Claire and Chris's pre-wedding shoot certainly had an interesting start....but a more traditional ending. Spotting a JCB on the beach, Chris was like a kid in a sweet shop - as you can see - and conversation soon turned to days out at Diggerland (yes, it really does exist). But, pretty soon, things were back on-track at Swanbridge beach in the Vale of Glamorgan. The tide was out, and so the next obvious pastime was soon in full swing, with both of them collecting shells from rock pools - although Chris did cheat a little towards the end (ok, maybe a lot, most of the time), as he found large piles of shells near the sea wall. Claire also had fun, and got her own back with a little bit of splashing Chris for his antics! For the full gallery, click on any of the photographs, or click on the Portfolio Wedding Highlights.
A wonderful family wedding at the St David's Hotel and Spa in Cardiff Bay where, once again, the weather performed so much better than forecast! Steven's early morning nerves eventually subsided just before the ceremony, but Rachel appeared to take it all in her stride! Surrounded by their family, they had lots of fun, which we think is obvious from this small selection of photographs from the wedding. Congratulations to both of them as they start life as a married couple. To see more of the highlights gallery, click on any of the photographs below.
A day full of happiness and laughter was had by all at the wedding of Gaz and Jo. A poor weather forecast couldn't have been more wrong, and the sun shone on the happy couples special day. Guests had travelled from far and wide, and all the effort was completely worth it, as a wonderful military wedding was waiting for them (and the standard of ironing was exceptional!). The happy couple couldn't stop smiling, we had huge fun shooting the day (maybe not the right word to describe photography in this environment), and we wish them both every success and happiness for their future together. Whilst much of the nation was recovering after celebrating the Welsh victory against France (well done lads!), we spent a fabulous St David's day with Robin and Keiron at The Old Rectory, Llangattock (http://rectoryhotel.co.uk/).
The ceremony was beautifully personal to them, as they had written their own vows, which left hardly a dry eye in the house.
We wish the very best for the future to this devoted couple; it was heart warming to be part of their day.

What better way to spend Christmas eve than getting married? Linda and Andy obviously agreed as they booked their intimate event for that day. Surrounded by the most important people to them, they tied the knot at Ystrad Mynach Registry Office and then had dinner at Churchills Hotel, Cardiff. It was a wonderful, relaxed day, as I'm sure you can tell from the photographs, and the festive decorations added wonderfully to the atmosphere. Click on any photograph to see a small selection of shots from the day; the full gallery will follow once we complete the selection and processing.
We would just like to bring everyone's attention to Casa Cal Domino. As the blog title says, it is a relaxing and wonderful Honeymoon destination in Catalunya, Spain. It is on the doorstep of the Gavarres National Park, only 3km from the Mediterranean coastline, close to Girona and 90km from Barcelona. It offers luxury, 4 bedroom, accommodation with a private infinity pool and separate jacuzzi, and provides an idyllic base from which to explore the surrounding countryside and coastline, or a place to just kick-back and enjoy the wonderful views from its wooded hillside location. Sorry we've been quiet for a few weeks, but we've been having a fabulous relaxing time in the Four Seasons Resort on the glorious island of Mauritius. Whilst sunning ourselves we also got the opportunity to shoot the wedding of Tony and Sue; a wonderful couple we met at the resort. As you'll see below, they had arranged an intimate wedding on a peninsula jutting into the Indian Ocean, and their wedding breakfast was served at sunset on the beach. The highlight for them was Tony's daughter putting in a surprise appearance from her home in New Zealand, but the highlight for us was to be able to give them some memories they otherwise wouldn't have had. Congratulations Sue and Tony, we wish you many happy years together, and a chance to celebrate at least one of your anniversaries in Anahita!

Hi, we've had such a lot of fun this year photographing some wonderful couples on their 'special day' that we thought that it would be a good idea to add and share a new section in the portfolio. It is a selection of some of our favourites from just a few of the weddings that we have photographed over the last year. Please browse and enjoy the full highlights by clicking any of the photos below or selecting the portfolio menu option.
We are exhibiting at a wedding fayre hosted by Bride Design on Sunday, 5th October, at The Gate Art Centre, Roath, Cardiff. Why not come and join us to talk about your photography needs and view a selection of our latest work.
These are just a taster of what you can see in a selection of framed and enlarged prints.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Keen to try out a new camera, which has ultra fast auto focus, we were wondering how to put it through it's paces; it's not something you usually need at a wedding unless the dancing gets crazy! Our friend Jane, who teaches with K9 TrainTime, very helpfully suggested we might want to join their dog training classes, Rally and Agility, hosted at Walnut Tree Farm in St Bride's, Wentlooge. We jumped at the opportunity because, as well as being a good test for fast focusing action shots.....
..... we hope you'll agree there was a chance of some adorable resting shots too. A portrait is a portrait after all, regardless of how much hair your subject has, and our canine friends have the advantage of not feeling self conscious when someone points a camera at them. Just the opposite in fact, and the biggest problem was stopping them investigating the kit, which had the double disadvantage of putting them inside the possible focusing distance and adding the occasional smear to the lens from a wet nose!
We would like to extend a big thank you to Jane, Shaun, Kayleigh and all their clients who tolerated our intrusion, especially if we caused any distractions during test time. Hopefully the photos will make up for any inconvenience, and we would love to come again if you'll have us. Our only disappointment for the day was that we were the only ones who didn't earn a rosette. I'll just have to take my two dogs along and try to earn one properly (although they are undoubtedly badly behaved compared to the stars of the day).
Here's a few more of the shots, which we hope you enjoy, and you can click on any of them to see the full gallery, download them or order prints.
We had a wonderfully fun day with Laura and Daniel for their wedding at St German's Church and reception at Manor Parc Hotel, Cardiff. The forecast thunder storms never arrived thankfully, despite the threatening skies in the middle of the day. A fabulously welcoming family, which meant we enjoyed the day as much as the guests.
Here's a small selection of photos from the day, and now the work begins on producing the rest as quickly as possible, so we don't keep the bridge and groom on tenterhooks.
